The Dominican Gagá as an Oral Traditional Performance is a four part short documentary where the cameras take the place of the audience from a narrative point of view of the tradition as a secular cultural manifestation in the Dominican Republic and New York City. It describes gagá social context in the bateyes of the Dominican Republic as well as the music, dance, instrumentation, lyrics, and social structure. The documentary illustrates the recent integration of Gagá from traditional to popular music in the Dominican Republic and New York City.
