In May of 2013, The New York chapter of the Society for Design Administration (SDA) arranged a members-only walkthrough of the under-construction World Trade Center Tower in New York, with grateful appreciation to the Durst Organization. We met at Durst offices in the morning for a briefing, then walked though the site before taking elevators to the 49th, 64th, and 88th levels of the as-yet-unfinished tower. We even went out in a cage suspended outside the building at the 88th floor. From there, we went down to the new PATH station designed by Santiago Calatrava.
The SDA advances management and administrative professionals in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry through education, networking, and resources. With chapters in major markets throughout the United States, there's likely a group near you. For more information about joining the SDA, visit the national website today at sdadmin.org/. In New York, the local chapter's URL is sdanyc.org
