God Save The Cars
Autumn/Winter Collection by Anne-Lina Dingsor Uudelepp
London Graduate Fashion Week 2013.
The focus of the collection is an urban style for women. The stimulus was 2012 summer riots - the colours, the shapes of the burning of the cars gave a pattern to the design, the smoke and the essence of negative excitement. This led to a style, which reflects urban deterioration and the rioters energy, therefore giving impact to an edgy style and a colour palette that developed from the mixing of the colours and pattern found from the burning cars. The product range whilst reflecting urban wear moves from casual fabrics to incorporate silks and velvets to give the sense of elegance and fitted form based on menswear shapes. The collection comprises two opposite styles- structured and draped, which reflect the original concept of how fire can affect paint - the movement from a fitted skin to a fluid state.
