Since we decided to take a flight back home next morning instead of an evening train, we managed to squeeze in one additional ride during our trip to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in April 2013.
This was our last (bonus) ride and we'd already seen 10 tigers within 3 days. Since this was zone 3, I wasn't really expecting to see a tiger here. Instead, thought of showing a different kind of landscape here in Zone 3. We waited at this water hole watching the different species of birds that came to quench their thirst in the afternoon and trying to photograph them. After almost an hour, we suddenly heard an alarm call from the right side of our jeep. As we looked behind, this female tiger suddenly appeared from nowhere. It seemed as though she was already sitting behind a rock waiting for us to leave the water hole free for her. But then she finally decided to present herself and walk to the water hole in front of us.
We were lucky to have spent almost 40-45 mins with this tiger while watching her drink water on this hot summer afternoon without being bothered about all the vehicles that stood there watching her.
