Great stuff
Fantastic stuff
Thats a deep question. Haha... Each shot varies depending on the time of day, the movement, etc... But as an example, the first shot, Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe, was 30 sec exposures every 32 seconds and if I remember right it took about 6 hours. And I use lightroom for post.
These clips area all 1080p 30fps. I export full res out of FCP. Then I compress to H.264 with at least 5000 bit rate. Sometimes I go a little higher on the bit rate as well. Hope that helps.
Wish I could be more like you Brad. Good for you there's only one! BKF.... sounds promissing but are you still a part of MDP?
I left MDP last year and started working for Burton. I dont know what my next plan is yet though. Time will tell...
greetings from switzerland.
thanks
Yes I have shot the 5D Mark II with snowboarding quite a lot. It is not perfect for snowboarding thats for sure. It is not a replacement for a good "video"camera for action. But, if used correctly, in the right circumstances it does produce some amazing shots of action. Check my video The Basic Teaser. There are several 5D Mark II shots in it. And a lot in the movie. I wouldnt want it to be my only camera, but it's a GREAT addition to the bag.
Hope that helps
Tell them I sent you
There are a lot of other alternatives. This is just the one that I have.
Steve
First, you used a long lens to compress the scene (unless I am getting that backwards.) Then you either used a shallow depth of field, or simulated on with post-pro. Finally is the vignetting.
I think?
Excellent job. I rather enjoyed this. I definitely learned something from this too.
Shane
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks
i have question if you don't mind.
I understand that the camera movement is done by this rotary device attached on the tripod but how have you done this kinda zooming effect ? also what kind of lenses did you used ?
thanks !
I used a variety of Canon lenses.

The blog is more than OK... Much appreciated!
the most captivating time lapse I've ever seen
Just wondering, but howd you do the tilt-shifting? A lens or in post?
