THE TODDLERHOOD TRANSITION
Parenting Your 18 - 36 Month Old Child
There are nine visits in this series, average length is 22 minutes. Parents with children between 18 - 36 months are our target audience although many of the principles extend to preschool and school age children.
As a mom or dad, you have probably come to realize there are times when your developing toddler will reject or strongly oppose your reasonable instructions. Usually, this is because he doesn't know your instructions are reasonable. Keeping a toddler on track is the goal of discipline and bringing him back to where he should be is the role of correction. What will you do when your toddler's little hands, legs and mind take him to places he should not be? What can you do to keep him on track and moving forward? In visit eight we discuss how you can guide with instruction, motivate with encouragement and establish necessary boundaries through correction.
