24. Cremallera Montserrat

This is the way to the Montserrat mountain range. This is a rack rail which started to work in 1892, but closed from 1957 to 2003 because of an accident (and dictatorial political reasons).
The way is about 15 minutes from the train station to the monastery. I accelerated the motion just to not make it so long.
Montserrat is the most important monastery of Catalonia where we have our Black Madonna Montserrat.

Is the telefèric still there? We once went to the monastery by telefèric and the view during our way upwards and downwards from its cabin was amazing!
Yes the "Teleferic" is still there, it's a classic and nobody here would allow to close it! The mountain without the "teleferic" would not be Montserrat. aeridemontserrat.com/op_b1.htm
I have to go there and take some shots for the "Teleferic" called now "Aeri de Montserrat".
