There is a gravitational source at r = 0, and the initial conditions represent an analytical hydrostatic density and pressure distribution. We assume the atmosphere is isothermal. The vertical line is at the sonic radius, and the horizontal line is at the sound speed.
This is called in other places the "Parker Model" of the solar wind. This video was simulated in VH-1 and plotted in gnuplot.
