MAGE is a modified version of the HTS speech synthesis engine (hts.sp.nitech.ac.jp) which allows HMM-based speech synthesis to be used in reactive programming designs. In this video, we demonstrate how interactive voice interpolation is implemented. Using as interface a processing application, which allows us to navigate through an interactive map and choosing the voices to be interpolated. Then the chosen models are interpolated on the fly so that at the final output we have the result of the interpolated voice models.

This work was performed at The Centre for Speech Technology Research ( cstr.ed.ac.uk ) in collaboration with the NUMEDIART Institute ( numediart.org ) under the supervision of Dr. Junichi Yamagishi, Dr. Nicolas d'Alessandro, Prof. Simon King and Prof. Thierry Dutoit.
