"ROLLTREPPE" is a project for the class "Inszenierter Raum" at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule (btk).
The idea was to bring a little more order into the public transport system – especially for those who are in a hurry and using the escalators.
The "Rolltreppe" is usually the fastest and sometimes the only way to get to the exit, but not everyone seems to know how to properly use them: You stand on the right and walk on the left.
With our project we tried to solve this problem in a creative way. By sticking short sentences with basic facts about escalators on the handrails, we tried to attract people to the right side of the stairs so they wouldn't block the way up. (Don't worry: The stickers come off easily and leave no marks whatsoever.)
This video is just a short montage of what the final project looked like.
