8. Best Day Yet...
Scenic flights like Yosemite or Big Sur are the cherry or the whipped cream, but days like last Friday are, and take, the cake.

    Great work

I love this sport but it is so much time consuming
    when playing it safe.

but this video comes just in time i had thoughts of quiting the sport by now

because kayaks and waves are around there all the time . and it is so rwarding for the time .

but HG is something else when you get there

Thanks for the video so i'i keep in the sport for
    another three years period

hoping to get 13k by then

Thanks, Naty, that's one my favorite comments ever on a video. I've charged ahead a couple of times and regretted it... my new plan now is to set incrementally bigger goals for myself and achieve them methodically. For example, on this flight, I went furthest East... coulda gone further, but didn't...

Enjoy the progression, I hope you get to 15K by then. :)

Awesome video KK. I really needed that. I started a huge remodel project just after I started flying HGs and have literally been spending all of my free time on nights and weekends for the last three years trying to get my family of 5 out of the basement. I read the Org everyday and go through cycles where I get really bummed, which has been more often lately. I am getting close to wrapping up my project and have depended on videos like yours to keep me going. Thank you for sharing. I am now going to stare at my glider that I have never flown and dream of when my weekends will be mine again......... hopefully a couple months away.

Hi Knumb , GREAT video ! and animation..
In which program did you record the GPS animation ,and how ?

    Thanks matt and golesh...

The program is seeyou by naviter... it reads the gps file from flytec. i play it back and capture it with an opengl/directx recorder called fraps. so, seeyou + fraps. and thanks.

  • Really nice video. Love the editing going from the gps to the hang gliding. I have a few questions though are you recording in auto mode, and what sdhc card you have. I ask because i have the same camcorder but cant see to get my video as amazing as yours.

Thanks. I use a Corsair 16GB SD card, not sure what level, and the battery on my Panasonic HDC-SD5 lasts about 100 or maybe more minutes. I also have a wide angle adapter for the lens. I edit the AVC HD in Sony Vegas Movie Studio (really buggy) and output to 720p .wmv (6 mbps) for vimeo.

Thanks for the reply knubnutss went
flying yesterday again after 2 month break

ir was awsome very light lift
    and got down qute quickly
lousy landing i practice too much kayak landing
not HG and you get what you desrf ....

so i should fly more .

U tried too embade your awsome usemity
    flight on my web site

    mochileros.co.il/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,42/func,view/catid,3/id,64/

    but it didn't let me

I would be very greatfull to embade it
on my web site it was so frughtenung on take off
and at that point i went over my 3 years training
course and realy understood the build up
    of this sport

I learned a lot from mike barber and read
    denis pagen books

but only after finishing a long course
you get the understanding how demading
it is to practice a zero margin for error sport

take off and landing in usemity is the best
    example i ever seen

    I learned to control fears
but skills building needs hard work

    Thanks again for sharing

Great video and I reaaly like the way your gps track is included. I flew Crestline 30 years ago and enjoyed it too. This summer in the east has been slow but a few good days with 7,000 foot gains. Keep em coming.
