In Germany, a fight is on over the remains of a Cold War landmark: the Berlin Wall. For 28 years it separated East and West Germany. But now instead of tearing down the wall, many Berliners are battling to preserve what remains of it. A proposed apartment complex would be built just behind the East Side Gallery, the longest remaining portion of the wall. In a city whose history is rapidly disappearing, the wall is seen as an important reminder of the past.
