Nice work, Jorge. I like the style and the look especially. Good performances and nice attention to detailed sound. Wish they'd clean up those walk cycles in Moviestorm though. Enjoyed this one very much.
Thanks a lot Ricky, means a lot. I agree, the new walk system coming up in 1.7 will hopefully fix that. Looking back, I should have cut away during those awkward movements.
I've come to expect a high level of intensity and perceptive rawness from your dramatic movies, and in this one you accomplish just that yet again. The stylish camera work and incessant rain add depth to the already poignant script and masterful acting by both you and goofparade. A fantastic exploration of this philosophical theme.
Wow Jorge. I think I said it before, but watching your progress in film-making is awesome!
Every film tops the last, the way you film, camera position, shot composition, building of atmosphere, sound-design and post production - I'm so impressed with this movie!
Love the script - GP is soooo good as the two characters, can you believe I hardly recognised him being Owen in the beginning? He's a vo - god! You and Dulci did great, too!
The incessant rain, the lighting, the soft focus, the colours, the music.... wow.
Just wonderful!!
Oh my, really marvelous work, Jorge. Hands down my favorite film of all you've directed. Everything seemed to really come together here. And LOVED the topic; I swear I sat in on the exact same conversation at a coffee house studying philosophy in college.
Wonderful production values. In addition to what's already been mentioned, I'll add that I really liked the credits style. A plugin for the camera shake transitions on the text? Or something you cooked up manually?
Thanks a lot Phil, means a lot coming from you. I remember my brother during his college years being just like Owen for a while as well. I was always the guy just said, "whatever, okay. It's fascinating, but don't shove it down my throat like it's a fact." Besides, those were things I thought about when I was about 10 years old, to be honest.
Anyway, about the credits, at first I tried a wiggle expression in After Effects, but that didn't cut it, it was as intuitive as what I ended up doing. I used the Twitch plugin from Video Copilot. What I did was use the slide, color and blur pretty wildly to transition them to each other. I keyframed them in and out. However, throughout the text's "life" I had a blur, glow and color Twitch to make it look like it's flashing throughout.
I was very happy with how the credits came out myself. :)
great work Jorge, loved how u composed the story, camera angles and the blur fx u applied on the machinima (give a good suspense with the music) . For me everything chosen wisely. I was reading the other comments just because I got curious about the credits and in fact u did it on AE (that I am learning at this moment). 5/5 tumbs up man. Waiting to see more works from you. Hugs
You know the more I think about it, this the darker this story gets. So many people suffer this kind of attack on their imaginative growth...there is only one reality, which will be enforced that viewpoint with force or ridicule or any other means at the disposal of the person/group with the most power at that time. Of course it might not be raining. You make very interesting films Jorge.-Kate
It's all here. It starts with an excellent script, superbly acted, and visually... well, it's not far off perfect. I loved the camera focus, the rain effect on the window, the low lighting, and those amazing credits. I think that those are possibly the most effective credits I've ever seen!
I like your comedy work Jorge, and I know you've built up a fan-base for your now-famous The Clarks series - but Ad Hominen Attack really presses the right buttons for me.
And it's great to see that this movie is getting the recognition it deserves!

Congratulations on a film well done!

Thanks again.
