Sumak Kawsay or Buen Vivir. This concept is since 2008 present in the Ecuadorian constitution, introducing a form of peaceful coexistence, inspired by the traditional indigenous values of community life and collective well-being, harmony with nature and grounding, which reflects a whole new way of going through life very different from Portugal and western reality.
Based on the daily ritual of this family in Portugal - whose economic sustenance comes from the sale of clothing and crafts in markets - the film looks to reflect, through Elsa's words, thoughts and dreams, around their life since they arrived, and transformation that Portugal and Ecuador suffered, in inverse pace, in the last ten years.
