The northeast buttress of Johannesburg Mountain is a notorious climb of the North Cascades. It requires a particularly hardy spirit who can accept steep jungle climbing, thick brush, devils club, and alder, but also soaring heather benches, fun rock climbing, and a soaring final glacier climb.
