Thanks to the generosity of Fresno Unified employees and the community, 24 students from all of the district’s high schools were awarded Fresno Unified Scholarships, the largest number ever awarded. With this year’s scholarships, nearly $100,000 has been awarded to Fresno Unified graduates over the past five years.

Fresno Unified nearly doubled the number of Fresno Unified scholarships awarded this year to outstanding graduates, for a total of $52,000 in scholarship money to support college-going. The Board of Education recognized the 24 recipients of Fresno Unified Scholarships at the June 5 board meeting. The scholarships are possible because of the generous contributions by Fresno Unified employees and from the community’s support of the State of Education luncheon last fall, which raised more than $35,000 for the scholarship fund.
