Watch a short excerpt of the recording of Thomas Allen and Chip Kidd talk on the Aperture book Uncovered at Aperture Gallery. The entire talk is available on vimeo divided in three different clips.

Using the covers of vintage pulp fiction novels, Thomas Allen constructs witty and wildly imaginative scenes, reinterpreting the roles and relationships of the books' lead characters. Filled with drama, suspense and sensuality, these delighted images are being published for the first time in Allen’s debut monograph, Uncovered (Aperture, September 2007). Designed as a toy-like board book, this volume reflects the spirit of the project that is nostalgic, irreverent, and downright fun. Allen is in conversation with Chip Kidd, the internationally renowned graphic designer, author, comic book expert, and associate art director at Alfred A. Knopf, who wrote the foreword to Uncovered and has used Allen's work in his award-winning design.
