EDUCATION COMMITTEE & CHURCH COUNCIL NOTES
Church & School Website will be updated on June 10th. Necessary maintenance at the school is ongoing, but the Council is exploring ideas for a new school building in the future. Installation of Mrs. Beth Schmeling and Mr. Justin Wiechmann will take place on Sunday, August 11 with a welcome downstairs between services. Next Ed. Comm. & Council Meeting will be July 1 following the Monday evening service (Joint Meeting). Quarterly Voters Meeting will be Monday, July 22, 8:30 p.m. downstairs. Each of the 10 St. Paul’s Young People attending Luther High in the coming school year were allotted $250.00 from the St. Paul’s Luther High Tuition Assistance Fund. The 125th Anniversary of our congregation will be observed in connection with NEXT year’s Harvest-Mission Festival – on Sun., Sept. 28, 2014. The Western WI District Convention this past week clearly indicated that it is NOT in favor of NIV 2011 for our synod publications, and it IS in favor of working on a new Confessional Lutheran Translation in the future. For use in the meantime, NIV 1984 (as long as copies are available) and ESV (English Standard Version) received more support than NIV 2011. It remains to be seen how other Districts and the Synod Convention (July 29 – August 1) will weigh in. The voters of St. Paul’s have already indicated that we are NOT in favor of NIV 2011.

A NEW ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS toward church membership is planned for after Labor Day. If you or someone you know is interested, call the pastor (486-2754).

FAMILY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran School on June 18, 19, 20 (Tues. Wed. Thurs.), 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Sign-up sheets are in the entry to get an approximate head count. This year’s topic: “What The Bible Says About Angels: The Good, The Bad & The Unique.” Cookies and refreshments are served during the three evenings of our Family Vacation Bible School. If you care to contribute, call Lorna Plenge at 486-2792.

PASTOR’S VACATION is planned for July 2-10 in California. Pastor Paul Stuebs will conduct services here July 7-8.

LUTHER HIGH OPEN FORUMS - Open forums to revisit the 1999 architectural plans and gather input for the proposed Chapel/Auditorium and classroom additions at Luther High School will be held Wednesday, June 26, 7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 10, 7 p.m. in the school commons. All association members are invited to attend.
