This film explores the history and changing face of one of Exeter’s most important and historic streets: Sidwell Street. This short film tells the story of St Sidwella, whom the street is named after, and details the history of the street – from the days of the horse-drawn trams to the devastating effects of the Blitz in 1942.

The second half of the film focuses on St Sidwell’s Community Centre and a year-long project, entitled @SidwellStreetOnline, run by Exeter College, based at the Community Centre.

Hopefully anyone who watches this video will come away knowing a little bit more about this unique and historic street.

Music: Possibly, Squale, Marky Spark, PFTQ.
