dude ur so right! it IS hard to say to parents. Its even sometimes even easier to say to people that you are in relationships with because its used today almost like a relationship step rather than in the context that it was originally intended to be used in. Also, if it was easy to say what do you think that would do to the meaning of it? And to your last part, the grass always looks greener on the other side. But im sure you already know that just like you know that sometimes it is. Classic example of how life seems to work. I say I love you to parents a lot casaually and it means less. My advice to you is rather than writing a long winded letter, say "I Love You" in the times where it is most difficult to say. Say it during a fight with the intensity it deserves and while looking them in the eye. Thats something not many people can do, and it will evoke the meaning of the phrase more powerfully than the words or heartfelt feelings ever could. Finally, good to hear from ya pal. msg me sometime. Hopefully I wont be knee deep in tests/exams and we can chat. -Pat

Wow, good advice dude. I've certainly thought about saying it during the difficult times, but it would take getting used to. As I said, it's extremely difficult for me, and I don't know why, therefore I can imagine it detracting from the phrase until I become confident in saying it. That right there is the key, I think: my lack of confidence hinders my ability to express myself in such a way.

I am a writer, hence why I think writing out how I feel in a card or something like that would be the first step. But I really do appreciate the advice, and it's great to hear from you. I'll definitely drop you a line at some point, and the same goes to you. I'm almost always online, and love to hear from you guys, however rare the occasion ;)

Don't really have much advice to give. And this hasn't brought much to me another than move me and get my own mind to think about those words. I am thinking maybe some video response would be much appropriate once I've come up with something :p You got a lot good content, will be keeping an eye on you.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I look forward to watching the response, whenever it is that you come up with something. ;)

You've already done a lot by spilling all that Brandon. I def understand what you mean, I had a phase like that. I believe I still sometimes do.

If you find it difficult to say "i love you" to your parents, you can at least start, by one day, one time, either both parents or just one at a time, just tell them "Thank you."

No opening introduction, no extended explanation. Just tell them, Thank you. I think they'll get the message.
