On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck just outside of Carrefour, Haiti. More than 230,000 people were killed and over one million were displaced, making Haiti the largest refugee camp in the world.
Forward Edge has established a presence in Haiti, sending teams to serve in various communities: Cap-Hatien, Carrefour, Petionville and Thiotte.
Our long-term goal is to move past short-term fixes to long-term solutions. We seek to help Haitians pull their families out of poverty for good by offering opportunities through our "Jobs for Life" initiative. We also support and empower local leaders who are working to change Haiti from the inside out.
You can help Haitians eradicate poverty in their country by giving towards Forward Edge programs and/or going on a mission team to serve them.
