In March 2013, Julie Epp and Ivy Gowen travelled to Rwanda to visit the Street Kids of Rwanda at the Kimisagara orphanage. They had been raising money for the orphanage for over two years and returned to spend time with the children and help fund some projects (a new dormitory building, secondary school fees, library access for some of the children, soccer balls, as well as many basic needs such a toilet paper, soap, Vaseline, laundry soap, mosquito netting, cleaning supplies). They also brought donations of cameras with them for the children to use.
While in Rwanda, Julie and Ivy also spent time with the Indangamirwa Cultural Troupe and visited the mountain gorillas (and Sacola Traditional Dancers) in Volcanoes National Park.
