George Osodi, photographer; lives in Lagos, Nigeria. In this video George Osodi talks about his background and his work at Documenta 12, 'Oil Rich Niger Delta' (2007). A series of more than 200 photographs taken between 2003 and 2007 show life and perils in the Niger River Delta. The photographs expose damages caused by the oil industry. Oil flares, pollution and exploitation, test the resilience and culture of the people in the Delta.

George Osodi has been a member of the Associated Press News Agency since 2002 and works as a photojournalist for national and international newspapers and magazines in West Africa.

David Aradeon, a Nigerian architect and curator, who is also exhibiting at Documenta12, comments on the work of George Osodi.
