Inspired by (and we admit slightly needled by) the "Rhonda Forever" project, we polished the 3d freehand drawing tool in Field — our open-source tool platform for digital art and experimental code writing. We think that doodling in 3d and in code simultaneously is a lot more fun than just doodling in 3d alone — and we'd like everybody else to think so too.

as one of the developers of rhonda, I'd argue that drawing w/ out code is pretty damn fun too ;) alot of the folks that are using it love to sketch, and that's really what the project is about -- encouraging people to draw in different ways.

at any rate, nice work... kind of flattering to see.

(But don't you worry that you have a vibrant forum full of people wanting to change line thicknesses & colors, manipulate geometry, export to different formats and well, "draw in different ways" that are actually different to what you've given them?

huh really ?

our approach leaves us happy actually. not only do people have requests, but they are using it to make some seriously evil good stuff, are writing importers to bring the data into 3d programs, are making videos, etc.
