The trailer for my second film "A Night in the Sunlight," a haiku about love, loss and forgiveness. We shot this in the Sunlight Cafe on Roosevelt in Seattle. It features the uncompromising talents of Lenne Klingaman, one of my classmates from the UW PATP.
My friend Kelli Ruddick wrote and performed the score, she used a lot of the mbira, a rather large thumb piano from Africa. The usual suspects helped plan it and put it together (Tony Tibbetts, Jonathan Houser, Amanda Bontecou, Darlene Sellers.)
She has long avoided it but finally Katie returns to a place in her past, the café her father often took her on special occasions. Once there, she finds the person she least expected who is also the person she most wanted to find.
