After carrying 700 yeas old legacy of Amir Khusro and Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, Ustad Meraj is not very confident about the future of Classical Qawwali in India, though his descendent Qawwals had received training from him only including his sons. The lack of proper patronization throws this ancient art form into the consumer market to compete, where at the age of 88 Ustad Meraj has to perform to earn his daily livelihood.
