ROSEMARY BEACH FL - Everyone hears about our gorgeous beaches, world-class architecture, fun beach towns, the arts, music and exciting events that take place along this stretch of paradise. But, one of the exceptional things that makes 30A an extra special to live, work and play, is an overwhelming spirit of community and generosity found here. Anytime businesses or individuals are called on to support a cause or someone in need, 30A local businesses, individuals and groups “step-up” without hesitation and take on the challenge with gusto.
Friday evening June 7, 2013 in Rosemary Beach, that community spirit was prominently on display at WALK HER WAY. For the second year in a row, the Rosemary Beach Foundation partnered with Shelter House, a state certified domestic violence center that serves Okaloosa & Walton Counties. The shared purpose of Rosemary Beach Foundation and Shelter House with WALK HER WAY is two-fold; to create a fun way to raise funds to support the missions of both organizations but more importantly to have a venue that heightens community awareness of domestic violence . This fun event, with the support of 32 Sponsors, took on a carnival- street parade atmosphere as teams and individuals donned fun costumes and high heels and took to the streets of Rosemary Beach for a 1.5 mile stroll through town. The event raised over $30,000 to support both organizations in their respective missions and community outreach. Just another example of why “Life from 30A” is truly extraordinary!
