As part of the Wisconsin Game Developer's Summit 2013, I presented this panel with a focus on creating video games with a focus on creating compelling and worthwhile social features.
"Every player has a story to tell and every community has a history, one made up of its users' shared experiences and interactions. A thriving community is less built and more guided, such that its players are enabled to create their own social experiences. We will explore techniques for engaging and retaining gamers as a community to create a fulfilling social environment that players new and old want to be a part of.
Through proven and anecdotal evidence we will explore what it takes to understand your players' needs and deliver to them everything they need to craft their own tales. Attendees will leave with a more robust understanding of the advantages and caveats of different community management techniques as well as how to identify and implement an enduring approach for their game."
