Some impressions from my time spent on this mountain in August and September 2009, including 2 summit attempts (1 successful) in mid-late September. Climbers in the video are myself, Brendan Dore, Nathan Martin, Matt Ensign, Christopher Fey. Thanks to Nathan for setting this up, acting as the guide and sharing his knowledge and Brendan for inviting me in on the experience.

Mt. Rainier is the highest glaciated peak and the most prominent volcano in the contiguous United States.

Equipment: Canon 5D MKII, 16-35mm. Music is from composer Dario Marianelli from the Atonement soundtrack.

    How does the 5D2 perform in such high altitudes? No problems at all?

    None that I noticed. I was worried the cold would affect it, but seemed fine. Temps were probably in the teens at the summit with 50-60 mph gusts.

    Nice work Luke. Raised in the Pacific NW I saw Rainier from afar and always wished I had climbed the summit. Did you use any filters on the 16-35mm?
