Today, we'll continue our summer-long preaching series about following God's Spirit into the world and the 4-Step process that helps us do that: Decide, Befriend, Discern, Serve.
Last week, Gary talked about how Peter decided to invest his time in Cornelius, opening up the Gospel to a new people group previously seen by Jews as outside God's "inner circle." Gary asked us to consider: IN WHOM is God asking you to invest?
This week, we'll be moving from "who" to "where": WHERE is God asking you to invest your time? If we are to take the mission statement of this church seriously - to be Christ's people in this world - it means that our very purpose is to leave the comfort of our church building and go out into the world to see what God is up to there. But how do we decide WHERE to go? I'll be preaching from Acts 15 and 16 at all four services, exploring how Scripture can help us decide where to invest our time outside the church.
