This film has been made to increase awareness on how retailers, brands, and merchandisers' own business practices impact on working conditions in the supply chain. Although this film voices Chinese supplier's opinions and experiences, we emphasise that producers in many countries and industries face the same challenges. The actual time given to produce the product is ever-shorter and one of the root causes of excessive overtime amongst workers in global supply chains. Furthermore, pressure from retailers to reduce price can make it difficult for suppliers to pay a decent wage. Our hope is that this training tool will inspire responsible companies to get started in addressing business practices as an ethical trade issue.
