"Echoes" was my first student animation, created at the Academy of Art in San Francisco in 1995. The tarantula was rendered with particle hair and the placement of each leg, turning and running up the wall, was a fun puzzle to solve. During rigging, I wrote an expression that drove the knees of the spider so it could perform pretty easily in a variety of different poses in Alias Wavefront. I owned a real Chilean Rose-Hair tarantula (for 12 years) and I would bring its molts into the computer lab at school to model from. The environment texture was/is referencing primitive paintings such as those found in Lascaux, France.

The phone number at the end of the animation hasn't been mine for some time.
