Not really guys. My friend Sam aka samglee on Vimeo asked me to talk about things that interest me or that I like for her art. I chose to make mine a joke and embarrass myself.

I swear I don't actually think any of these things. I just sat in front of the camera and made all this up on the spot.

    hahahaha "handbags"
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
I don't even buy handbags. I couldn't think of much else besides clothes and shoes.

Oh man, when you say "parties" it sounds like "potties." For a second I honestly thought you were going to start talking about the bathroom or something. Thank God you didn't, that would be an awkward way to bring boys up.

Why is there so much critiquing the australian accent lately?!
  • Amanda 2 years ago
The Australian accent is hands down my favorite one! I could just listen to an Australian reading the phone book all day and I'd never get bored.
  • Paul McClintock 2 years ago
The thing about American accents is, no matter what someone is talking about, it always sounds like an episode of Friends.
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
    Haha that's so true.

I like your cuddly bear. It's cute. :)
Out of curiosity, what would you consider an accent? Anything outside of Australia?
  • clates 2 years ago
I would like to inquire the same thing!
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
Well I'm more used to Australian accents because I hear them all the time, so it's always cool to talk to someone with a different accent to mine. I like American accents a lot.
  • davidj 2 years ago
The phrase "American accents" sounds so funny. Being from America and all.
  • Matt Phillips 2 years ago
Agreed about the "American accents" sounding funny. Being American, hearing someone talk about "American accents" at first seems as ludicrous as someone talking about the taste of water or the smell of air, and then I realize how naive/dumb that is. But I'm glad that foreign girls dig American accents because that's probably the only real asset I have.

somehow i don't think most non- aussies will get the sence of humour...

did you ver see the show on sbs "We Can Be Heroes: Finding The Australian of the Year" by Chris Lilley... it's classic.
on it he does a character "Ja'mie King" - you remind me of her.
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
Hahaha yes! We Can Be Heroes was fantastic. My friend Becky aka becgeez on Vimeo bought the series on DVD.

Haha Ja'mie King rules. Especially when she does the play at school with her friends about... oh damn I don't remember. It was great, though.
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
Did you see the one where she sings 'I Still Call Australia Home' and does some interpretative dance moves... That was gold!
(I think the play was about 3rd world countries?)
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
Hahahaha I forgot about that episode.

Yeah you're right. It was about 3rd world countries haha.

when i was in brisbane someone sang "Still Call Australia Home" and the whole bar sand along. it was the first time i'd heard it. when i got to sydney i was talking with a guy who said that it was primarily an anthem for those who'd left but come back--locals mostly hated it ...
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
I've been to cities that never close down. From New York to Rome and Old London Town. But no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home.
  • J.B. Nymble 2 years ago
*shudder* i'd call brisbane home but i'd not sing that song unless heavily bribed :P

Im always travelling, i love being free. And so i keep leaving the sun and the sea. But my heart lies waiting something something... Amazing what TV ads will embed themselves in your brain!!
  • Jimmie 2 years ago
But my heart lies waiting over the foam, I still call Australia home. Hahaha. Joel - unfortunately I learnt that song in choir when I was in primary school in year 3.
  • Joel Curran 2 years ago
I learn it from those Qantas ads...
