Why is there so much critiquing the australian accent lately?!

The Australian accent is hands down my favorite one! I could just listen to an Australian reading the phone book all day and I'd never get bored.

The thing about American accents is, no matter what someone is talking about, it always sounds like an episode of Friends.

Well I'm more used to Australian accents because I hear them all the time, so it's always cool to talk to someone with a different accent to mine. I like American accents a lot.

Agreed about the "American accents" sounding funny. Being American, hearing someone talk about "American accents" at first seems as ludicrous as someone talking about the taste of water or the smell of air, and then I realize how naive/dumb that is. But I'm glad that foreign girls dig American accents because that's probably the only real asset I have.

when i was in brisbane someone sang "Still Call Australia Home" and the whole bar sand along. it was the first time i'd heard it. when i got to sydney i was talking with a guy who said that it was primarily an anthem for those who'd left but come back--locals mostly hated it ...

I've been to cities that never close down. From New York to Rome and Old London Town. But no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home.
