Project ETHOS, known as the incubator for emerging artists in fashion, music and art, gathered Los Angeles top notch rising talent and featured them in their recent March 27th event, Culture Shock: The Impact of Fashion. Music. Art. Featuring eight designers, three bands, eleven artists, two DJs and over 50 models, the show attracted an eclectic crowd of over 2,000 attendees including notable fashion buyers Christel Slice of The Yucaipa Companies, Alexis Sugiyama of Checkmate King Co. Ltd, Maire Ayala from AK Consulting, and Sonja Rasual from Unique Los Angeles.
Intrigued art lovers were pleased to peruse the large art patio space, where artists like Glitz & Grime were not only approached by a restaurant chain to print several of their pieces of art for various locations, but also sold a large piece during the event. Artist Charles Alexander was also approached and commissioned, on the spot, to do a multi-thousand dollar piece of art.
Industry executives from Interscope records were in the crowd to support Carney, checking out other bands like Casxio and MyStudio contest winner Silver Medallion.
Highlights of the evening included body-painted Mimeki models, a runway dance show by Groovaholix, and a seven-part fashion show extravaganza.
Project ETHOS also joined hands with non-profit Raising Malawi, giving them the opportunity to showcase their cause, which is bringing an end to the extreme poverty and hardship endured by Malawi's 2 million orphans and vulnerable children, to a slew of conscious party-goers and industry executives.
