It is amazing that wild California King salmon are even still around. They have survived so many challenges that humans have created, including bad logging practices, dams, rivers diverted and water flows reduced. Yet they are hanging on, sort of. They, and we, will do much better with a few good wet years. Meanwhile, the struggle to resolve the water crisis goes on. Fueled by big money and driven by misinformation and a seemingly unwillingness to listen to each stakeholder in the debate. This video looks at the place that salmon has in California history, the politics of intolerance, and the money that is being poured into the effort to prevent salmon from getting the water they need to survive, much less thrive.
