26. South: A Time-lapse from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico
2 years ago
This video was shot on a Canon 5D Mark I using a Canon 17-40 lens. There are a few stills in the video that were shot using a Canon Digital Rebel. The sequencing was done in After Effects CS3, and the editing was done in Final Cut 6. The song used is Jape's "Floating."

I did the pushes and pulls in After Effects. I wish I had a rig that would allow me to do the moves so smooth on location. Thanks for watching.

Loved the video! The images are amazing. As to the song - should I have turned on my speakers? :)

Sweet! Really liked it. I saw a tutorial on how to capture moving time lapse, but now I see it can be done in post in AE. My fav shot is the one from outside a hotel window, with an oncoming sunset. Great stuff Senor Dodge! Looks like you had a great time.

I like. I really like the waves. But I must ask: Aren't you suppose to have all devices shut off during take off?
  • The Brothers Grinn plus 2 years ago
I'd like to say that I asked for permission, but I didn't. In fact, the guy next to me must have thought I was assembling a bomb when I pulled out my intervalometer.

  • I learned a lot watching this video:

    1) Even 2 seconds of stunning timelapse is worth watching
    2) it IS possible to capture the sunrise from an airplane, which I've always thought was incredible to watch in person
    3) Nightime, city timelapse, when done right, looks really awesome!

I really like your work in general, and thanks again for your advice.

Very nice! Did you use a tripod or some other stabilization to capture the frames through the plane window?
  • The Brothers Grinn plus 10 months ago
Jerry, I pulled out a tripod and my intervalometer and the guy next to me looked like he was going to have a heart attack. He was sure I was setting up a bomb.
