MALIN is a collaborative audiovisual series, performed live and then screened in a gallery context.
MALIN is driven by a desire to pull a visual narrative from an aural construct; each MALIN is a film brought into being through reaction to formal composition, itself a piece of music brought to life for that very purpose. This cyclical relationship reflects the turbulence between seeing and hearing, the interconnection: each is enhanced and enveloped by the other: the perfect collaboration.
MALIN I was first performed at the GRV in Edinburgh, September 2009; it was later performed as part of the Hidden Door Festival in January 2010.
