Launching video on Instagram was the perfect opportunity to source it's community for footage. We had prominent Instagram community members (Instgrammers) shoot footage on their iPhones for 2 weeks (from all around the world), and had them send us their raw footage. This video is the result.

The only footage that wasn't shot on mobile devices were a couple of the 'transition' shots where I was zoomed in to 300% or more. I used the 'camera blur' filter in AE to create the background plates for the phone UI shots...it's an amazingly realistic camera blur simulation.

All the 'filters' I applied to the footage in this video are also filters now available in the Instagram App. Denver Riddle (colorgradingcentral.com) developed the filters, and they're a ton of fun to use.
