Ballarat International Foto Biennale [Coda]
This is a small time-lapse grab of part of the last afternoon at The Mining Exchange. Don Brice can be briefly seen perusing the photographic works, Juno Gemes is also there and I am buzzing around setting up tables and so on for the 'wrap up' Volunteers party.
A bit about the Ballarat International Foto Biennale:
Comprising 20 Core exhibitions, 60 Fringe shows, workshops, seminars, portfolio reviews, affiliate events, artist floor talks, camera market, special events…and much more the Ballarat International Foto Biennale was fantastic start to Spring here in country Victoria. It was the largest Photographic Festival in the southern hemisphere and (final numbers have't been tallied yet) is expected to have attracted 40,000 visitors to the region. Following on from the highly successful Daylesford Foto Biennales of 2005 and 2007, The Ballarat Foto Festival is expanding into a truly global event. We intend to become the Arles of The Antipodes - a must visit event for photographers, publishers and all viewers who enjoy photography.
2009 Ballarat International Foto Biennale - 4th September to 4th October, brought some of the very best international and Australian photographers to Ballarat for a month long celebration of eclectic, wide ranging exciting photographic exhibitions. All told the 2009 Biennale comprised somewhere between 120 and 150 separate photographic events, including film screenings , workshops, seminars, portfolio reviews, multi media presentations and special events. There was also a lively series of Fringe Festivals in Ballarat and around the outlying region including Daylesford, Creswick, Trentham and Clunes. Sadly it is over now but come & join us in 2011!
