GH1 1st test with 20$ C-mount Computar TV lens 25mm 1:1.8

I found this particular lens, very very small and light, for only 20$. I like its particular image, reminds me pictures from my Lomo Olga. It's a lens for security camera.

3mn 46sec film, shot in l'Herbe, a small fishermen port near Bordeaux, France

Edited on FCP, no CC
Always open at 1:1.1 for its particular circle bokey
400 to 100 asa, shutter from 100 to 4000 to keep it wide open

music: Nico + The Faction "Camera obscura"

May I ask where you got the lens? I'm getting the Panasonic GF1 soon and I would love to try these kind of cheap lenses on it :)

Oh and if you have any good places to find out more about using these kind non standard lenses on slrs like yours that would be great too. I found some on ebay but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for, whick ones will work and so on..

I've bought this computar lens in a second hand photo market last WE . I've noticed another one 25mm 1.4 on the web. I have a Nikon 50mm 1:1.4 S.C from the 70', bought 100$ on Ebay :

    photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/c5014.jpg

and a Sigma monture Nikon, 28mm 1:1.8,one of my favourite bought 87$ on ebay too,
    sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3282&navigator=4
I also have Nikon serie E 50mm 1.8 pancake, bought 35€ in a second hand shop.

All the 24/36 lens from Nikon and Canon are working (the manual ones at least) and for the C mount, it seems you have to take after 25mm, because under you will have a black circle.

Wow, this is such a great lens, I really like the flare it creates. So I would need a C- mount to GH1 adapter first also on this type of lenses, do they just screw in, like a thread? into the c-mount. The reason I ask is because I think I might have a one in my garage from my Dad's stash of old tv camera equipment. I have never used a c- mount lens before.

Yes you will need a c-mount/GH1 adapter, you can find this on ebay, then the c-mount lens will screww in the adapter. The lens should be at least a 25mm.

    where ara buy this lens?
  • Seb Farges plus 25 days ago
you can find some if you type
"cctv lens" or "computar" or "tv lens" on ebay.
It's interesting over 25 mm, because below you will have black circle.

I also have a 25mm computar for my GH1, yet I do have the peephole, vignette problem. How are you avoiding this?
  • Seb Farges plus 19 days ago
the vignette seems small for me for the 25mm, anyway I like it... :)
