Smart Light Travel is a solution to the 2013 D&AD Spacial Design brief. As a team, Mitchell McGillvary and I worked to design a check-in experience for a Holiday Inn hotel that was positive, welcoming and distinctive.
Holiday Inn are known for their brilliant hospitality and attention to detail. Every aspect of a guests experience is considered. The first impression is the most important element, from the Branded Scent and Sound, to the customer service training program provided to "Guest Experience Champion's" (receptionists). Our solution extends these traits beyond the brick and mortar and onto guests smartphones.
Through complex analysis of location, weather, traffic and current event data we would be able to push notifications to guests at convenient times. The same data is then used to generate a personalised message for each guest on arrival. This minimises the need for a receptionist and means guest can move straight to their room.
