Jürgen Schupp is the director of the socio-economic panel (SOEP). The SOEP is a representative longitudinal study of private households, which is running for over 25 years now. Every year nearly 11,000 households with approximately 20,000 persons are interviewed. The survey gives information about income, employment, health or education. The SOEP is located at the German Institute for Economic Research, DIW Berlin.
In his lecture Mr. Schupp talks about the history of Social Reporting and LIfe Quality Research in Germany over the past 40 years and its future. The lecture was held on the 22 of May 2013 during the conference "Interdisciplinary Aspects of Well-being in changing Societies" that was hosted by the Deutsch-Japanische Gesellschaft für Sozialwissenschaften in cooperation with the Werner Reimers Stifung and the Max Weber Stiftung - Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland in Bad Homburg.
