Demetrius Idlett is a multi-faceted producer, DJ, vocalist, writer, and television personality.
The son of iconic super producer Timbaland and music industry executive Monique Idlett-Mosley, Demetrius has been exposed to the intricacies of the music industry on both
the business and creative sides. Influenced by the impact of his family’s innovative and entrepreneurial groundbreaking business ventures, Demetrius formed his own production company, Seduced by Sounds in 2011 and has taken an active role in steering the direction of his career. A true Renaissance man, at just 20 years of age, Demetrius’s interests and talents are far-reaching and beyond the confines of the entertainment world.
The foundation of Demetrius’s career is built upon his passion for music. The art of disc jockeying, writing, producing, and recording all stem from his love for all aspects of the art form. ”Ever since I can remember, music has been an integral part of my existence”, says Demetrius. “It’s my passion. I find tremendous fulfillment in creating from inception to completion. The whole process is cathartic and renewing. It allows you to reconcile your thoughts and emotions, to fearlessly pour all of yourself into your craft. Music is who I am”.
Having been exposed to various genres of music including electronica, trance, and world dance while touring with his parents in Europe as a child, Demetrius developed his innovative and infectious style. An eclectic fusion of European dance, Latin rhythms, and Hip-Hop, his distinctive sound has been influenced by world renown artists in disparate genres including: Timbaland, Marc Anthony, Benny Benassi, and Beethoven. Working in tandem as both a producer and recording artist, Demetrius’s most recent musical collaborations include work with the multi-platinum and Grammy award winning producer Timbaland, the internationally acclaimed actress and two time Latin Grammy nominated Belinda Peregrin Schull, pop’s foremost vocal coach Jim Beanz, and Agnezmo.
In January of 2012, Demetrius launched his newest musical venture through Seduced By Sounds, his disc jockeying division. In the short time of receiving his first equipment, Demetrius worked diligently to perfect his skills. He’s been provided the opportunity to spin for several private parties, multiple Dayglow events, the Grammy-nominated artist Estelle, the Palms Las Vegas, and Timbaland music videos and events.
A notable television personality, Demetrius was prominently featured on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen in 2008, with his episode being crowned the number one episode of the series and the most played to date across the globe. Demetrius can also be seen in trailers for Rockstar Games and on E! Network’s True Hollywood Story: Timbaland.
A strong believer in diversification and scholastic achievement, Demetrius is currently obtaining his undergraduate degree in International Business from Barry University in Miami, Florida. A literary buff with a constant thirst for knowledge, Demetrius has taught himself several languages including: Greek, French, Spanish, and Italian, as evidenced in his multi-lingual musical recordings. In addition, Demetrius spends his time away from work engaging in various literary pursuits.
Demetrius has managed to successfully entrench himself in all aspects of the entertainment business. Bound for international stardom, this mogul in the making relies on his diversified portfolio of education, skill, charisma and musical aptitude to attain his goals and serve as an inspiration to his peers. “At the end of the day, I just want to leave a long lasting and diversified legacy. To pay forward the advice and pearls of wisdom bestowed upon me pays homage to the artists and entrepreneurs who have been an inspiration to me”.
