Naturally Risen, is a short film documenting the rhythm of the process of noted pizzaiola Anthony Mangieri.

Anthony owned and operated Una Pizza Napoletana in the East Village of New York City from 2004 until 2009. He has since re-opened in the Soma district of San Francisco.

The film takes a decided non-verbal, intimate approach, in the tradition of a surf video – allowing Mangieri's disciplined movements to speak for themself.

Legendary skateboarder and musician Tommy Guerrero, provides the score.

This is simply one of the best films about a pizzaiolo and his pizza, I have ever seen. Anthony Mangieri is poetry in motion.
This video shows the pizzaiolo as an artist. That's what Mangieri is.

Simply astounding cinema. Thank you Michael Evans.

Absolutely beautiful. I'll be coming back to this one over and over again. Very inspiring and motivating.
The description mentions 2004 until 2009. I hope this doesn't mean the pizzeria isn't still there. That would certainly be tragic.

This takes me back to the old days of Apizza and baking bread, the Bags of flour, the oven the heat and of course the Love for Pizza. I have been there and done it, I worked for PePe's in New Haven when I was 18, many years ago now I'm 56 and worked with Frank, he was the very best, I love the style of this video and the production is top notch showing and capturing the art of Pizza making...it is a true inspiration to all..Bravo Anthony Bravo! nicely done!

Really lovely. Good music. It's nice watching someone who's good at, and loves, what they're doing. Plus, good hand shots (i wish music videographers would get that with guitar players).

I'm glad I had a chance to have one of Anthony's pies before he moved to the Bay area. Definitely one of the best pies I have ever had. Motorino has taken over the space and the review in the NY Times was favorable.

that is the italian way to prepare pizza. My only possible concern is the flavour of ingredients, since real pizza is from Napoli: a really particular geography place where Sun is always shining and earth raises just perfect and super flavoured vegetables. Even I that live in the northern part of Italy can feel the different flavour of pizza the more I approach Napoli travelling south. Very inspiring video.

Great video. I would swap out the thumbnail though. Use the early shot of just his tattooed hands. Generate more clicks. Nice work :)
