Bruce and I ride often around Sydney. On this late spring day we decided not only to film, but to take note of the number of other bikes we saw.
We swapped the camera around between us, me doing the tracking shots since I'm used to holding the camera in one hand as I ride.
Also I have an electric bike which means I can glide under power for a smooth shot, not pedaling.
Normally I do pedal since the battery does last long otherwise. It annoys Bruce, on his regular bike, that I have an easier time on the hills, of which there are many
My suspicion was that very few people would be seen riding around the harbor beauty spots on a working day. You'll see if I was right.
During the ride, I threw some supposed facts at Bruce, intentionally silly, which he took quite well.
Whether they'd seem funny or forced, I did not know till the editing. But they seem to work. Bruce's wife, Sue loved, the film and she would have picked up any false notes I'm sure.
Some of my strange factoids will be inside jokes for Sydney siders only, like the Manly ferry a thousand miles from care joke
