Love and sand castles washed away by the sea sometimes come back on the tide. The soundtrack features poem fragments from the Ancient Greek poet Sappho set to music by Javolenus.
My entry in the University of Western Australia MachinimUWA VI short animated film competition, with the theme Reflections.
This is one of those story-inside-a-story mazes I get myself into. I started out wondering about a question that always confounds me: does anything survive us after we die? That got me to thinking about sand castles washed away by the waves, and I wondered what might happen if the tide brought one back again. And that brought to mind the poet Sappho of Ancient Greece, since most of her poetry has been lost, with only a few fragments returned to us on the tide of time. Thanks for watching. I hope you find your way out of the maze. Or maybe not. It's as good a place as any to spend a summer day.
