I just open an account hier in Vimeo to tell you ROBERT MEREDITH, that not all publicity is always good!
Here your ideas were boring and the results of your expierence here don't make you any good because:
    1. Starck clearly established (like he always does! read the books, the articles! READ) that design is not about re-making something giving it a new shell with different shapes and colors (what you did) He wants innovation! Creation! Not re-decoration!
    2. You were and are stubborn. This way you cannot evolve! You have to accept that if your idea didn't get a good reaktion at first, you need another NEW idea. But you thought "hey, he picked me because of my X-food-project drawing. I should keep doing something in these line, he will like it!".... WRONG!
    3. You had the chance at the 1st episode to look for another BETTER & DIFFERENT idea and you (stubbornly) kept the old idea and look for a laim baby-mother picture. Trying to rewind the bad first impression. You can't do that!
    4. Smoothy mixer + KIDS using it = risk of cutting, mess. It's not innovative at all. You just thought adding KIDS to the equation would make it brilliant! Portable doesn't count, they all are portable and like 70% don't need batteries or electricity.
    5. YOU MAKING USE OF THESE BAD EXPERIENCE RESULT (SEE THE VIDEOS MAN! NONE GIVE THE IMPRESSION OF YOU BEING A GOOD DESIGNER!) AS A PUBLICITY TO GET CLIENTS OF JOB-OFFERS ist just stupid (and stobbern).

and Robert Meredith, if you still don't understand THAT NOT ALL PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY. Te lo puedo decir en español para que lo entiendas. Oder auf Deutsch, und höffentlich danach kannst (vielleicht nicht) du ein besser designer sein!

I think this show is conceptual in a way few things are. I love how Starck pushes their brains in! Yea!

Frankling speaking, all these guys are suck as designers. It seems they think they are in college, not in the real world. They are really not market and consumer focused. The show is nice, the contests are not. I agree with Starck.

Starck is a great designer but he's not so good at hosting a show -which I could hardly reproach him, of course. But it's a shame none of his fellow juges are.

In this episode, he gives them the same task again. If you include the project they had to send in to be candidates, that's the third all-free project they're doing, and the result is worse every time.

I feel it would have been good to ask them to make their own version of a particular simple object, like a mug or -yes, why not, a chair. There you could have seen who better understood the need to gauge everything in the object to make it functional, ecological and all. Without confusing them.

Another task, for later on in the show, would have been to insert themselves for a week into some group's life to test their idea.

As Paulo said, the contestants aren't very professional. If they were, they could interpret Starck's briefs within the limits of design. A would be designer expectingly has a lot of ideas allready in his or her bag, and they'd have chosen the best one and developped it in Starck's brief direction...

Wows @ Diana Loza.. you sound really angry. It's an old thread, but i'm interested to know why you'd try so hard to damage Robert? seems odd.

Those who were booted early from the show, might be a better fit at a design house where the "fancy talk" isn't required. I've been working full-time as a designer for over 10 years, and i've never once had a conversation about the gender of a wall plug.

This entire show points towards the hilarity of the process-focused effort. I think that Starck is clever, and this show is his way of smacking the design world in the head.

I very much agree with your response. I cringe at the words that come from Nabil's mouth ... I've never seen such try - hard junk.

Isn't he downplaying how something can be just beautiful? not every product 'needs' to be useful to fulfill its intent. Of course considering that was the brief, I'll be quiet now. lol.
