Premier announces the arrival of Melbourne's first new generation low floor tram.
Here we are today, announcing the arrival of the first of the new generation E-class trams.
They are ready to roll out, it is ready for testing.
It is the first of 50 new E-class trams that will be rolled out over the next five years.
And the great thing about these E-class trams is that they were designed in Melbourne, built in Melbourne, for Melbourne conditions.
This is about building for growth.
This is about building better services.
And we are very proud.
This program has created 500 jobs at Bombardier, and the people here today from Bombardier deserve our congratulations and thanks for the work they've done in this great project.
The trams as you can see have a special feature - they are the longest trams to serve on our network - 33 metres long.
Absolutely terrific trams.
Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world, one of the great things about our liveable city is our tram network.
This will make our tram network even bigger and better than before.
You can be proud of your contribution.
This is going to be terrific for Melbourne, terrific for Victoria.
