THE SHOOT
The AMG Driving Academy features more than $8M dollars worth of the world’s finest Mercedes AMG Performance division vehicles for one of a kind hands on driving experience. For ten days the Academy Tour was stationed at the renowned North American Road America track in Elkhart, Wisconsin. Fly Boys Aerials joined the AMG team to capture the speed and action of this incredible academy experience. We were tasked with covering five modules: the 0-60 drag, the slalom run, the skid pad, the carousel drift, and the auto-cross. Each module showcasing a unique and different capability of these powerful performance vehicles and super-cars. We flew three different aerial platforms shooting in high-definition using a SONY NEX-FS700 at 240fps and a SONY NEX-7 at 60fps. The weather was almost perfect with a light overcast that provided great soft lighting for most of the day and the winds were light out of the south. It was a full day of flying and shooting totaling almost 10 hours. Stay tuned for the edited cuts of footage to be released online. Special thanks to Chris and Adam for making everything happen and bringing us in on the shoot
