Between 27th and 30th August, everything ballooning was featured at the 39th Montgolfiade in the Aasee park in Muenster.

Floating to dizzy heights, revelling in the feeling of freedom and encountering the world of the ballooning community - these are some of the attractions which would leave lasting impressions on visitors to this year's event.

Outside of the sporting competition itself, a very popular highlight is the annual Balloon Glow on Saturday night. For half an hour, to the accompaniment of background music, balloons are illuminated from within by their burner flames. It is a truly spectacular display.

Nicolas J. Artley photographed this event in a photo series and created a movie as a dome projection to be used in a modern planetarium. The fulldome video projects this spectacle over the entire zenith.

Alles rund um das Ballonfahren bot die 39. Montgolfiade auf den Aaseewiesen in Münster vom 27. bis 30. August 2009.

In luftiger Höhe schweben, das Gefühl von Freiheit genießen und Gemeinschaft erleben. Wer möchte diese Eindrücke nicht selbst einmal haben? Einen Hauch hiervon konnten die BesucherInnen bei der diesjährigen Montgolfiade in Münster miterleben.

Nicolas J. Artley hat diesen Moment in einer Fotoserie abgelichtet und zu diesem Film für eine Kuppelprojektion, wie sie z.B. in einem modernen Planetarium verwendet wird, zusammengestellt. Das Ganzkuppelvideo bildet das Geschehen am kompletten Zenit ab.
